Mark Driscoll: Sissy-Boys and Kicking Ass

Sigh. The burning stupid.

Rebuke: "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control" (Galatians 5:22-23, English Standard Version).

Great, "Fight Club" Christianty. I never saw the whole movie, but isn't the main character psycho or split personality? Any connection here?

Lol! Maybe, Suneal!

It seems Mr. Driscoll has loosed the bonds of common decency and decide rampaging uber-men would be better qualified as pastors than the biblical description (a la, 1 Tim.).

I think Driscoll might be suffering from an inverted self-esteem: he's overcompensating for his tendency to dress in latinate garb, sip latte, and puff on cigarellos while spouting quips from feminist manifestos.

Do they have clerical collars specifically designed for macho-men?

Anyway, yes, Brad Pitt was a manifestation of Ed Norton's split personality in "Fight Club". Which is a brilliant movie, I think. And a fantastic commentary on the fact that people these days are largely unable to develop a healthy sense of identity.

I think there's stuff in Romans about this strange phenomenon. Perhaps Mark Driscoll is 'It'? ;)
