Armour of God PJ's!

From the good folks at Ship of Fools, I present:

"Isn't it about time for Christian kids to lead the fight against secular pajamas? Yes it is! And what better way to do it than by getting them into costumes straight out of the good old days of the Crusades. These amazingly realistic PJs are silver coloured so they actually look like medieval armor – but don't worry, Mom, they're not really made from steel!

Kids just love donning the breastplate of righteousness, being girt with the belt of truth and taking up the pillow of faith at bedtime. And meanwhile, you can sleep easy. Don't let it bother you for a moment that when your offspring grow up, it will take years of expensive therapy for them to get over this and all the other fundamentalist looney tunes you've imposed on them!

Buy your Armor of God PJs now! Only $39.95 plus shipping. Available from these Bible-believing folks in Florida."

I honestly thought this was a joke. :(

I have nothing cynical to add. I just felt sad for the children wearing these uniforms; I lose my cynicism when my mothering instinct comes out.

Apparently, God gave her the idea, so who are we to come against it with such negativity? All kids according to this blessed mother and creator of Armor of God P.J's, should be able to feel safe at night in these pajamas. How dare I deny my child the divine/supernatural provision of these miracle working p.j.'s. Better to have a millstone around your neck and be cast in the sea, than to offend one of these little Armor of God P.J.'s!

And when your child wakes up, remember, they can replace their p.j.'s with other clothes, all the while knowing they must now, during the day, put on the actual spiritual armour of God, until night comes again and now they only merely need to put on their neither actual, nor spiritual armor, but their physical Armor of God p.j.'s which can so much better protect them from the attacks of Satan. Ahhh! Just the thought is making me very, very, very,...sleepy.

I wonder, can someone please wake me up from this bad dream, and get this lady a Bible fast, one that points out such things as overt opportunism, deceitfulness, peddling the Word of God, making "godliness" a method for financial gain.

"God said" does not equal " I am right, do not question me, I have a blank cheque from God. Oh, by the way, you're footing the bill!"

Do they sell these in a size that I could wear?

I think the ones shown on the picture are adequate.

I think it is soooo fuuny that a pair of pajamas got a bunch of parents acting like nuts. Are you serious? Please suneal, give me one scripture verse that quotes what this woman is doing is against God or His Word. Haven't found one, and by the looks of it you haven't read one. I think the pajamas are a GREAT idea. Oh, and by the way, have you seen Seasame Street's new items? They want us to pay for them, how dare they!

I'm assuming you may be the parent that created these pj's. If so, hats off to you for your efforts to not only live out your faith, but also to provide for your family using something that you're passionate about.

The cynicism at this site, in the past, was somewhat misdirected, perhaps even cruel. So I apologise if it is that you feel hurt by the comments made above.

Also, since the inception of this site, I have undergone a massive philosophical switch from Christianity to atheism. Suneal, I very much doubt, has followed the same path, but has gone on to undertake a pastorate, and I'm fairly certain he'd feel as if his comments were unwarranted.

In any case, I wish you well with your future endeavours, and I hope your sales increase.
