Hey Kane, Facebook deserter! How does one web-challenged person send you a message rather than leaving a dorky message on your blog?
Melanie :)

Melanie,

LOL! I had to close down FB because it was distracting me from too much of the rest of my life, and is, to my way of thinking, a potential black hole of wastefulness. I think that technological distancing via social networking interfaces like FB lead to pseudo-connectivity. I'm considering collecting actual addresses from people I love and care for and going back to traditional letter-writing. It's so much more personal to have a warm piece of paper with another's personality splashed across the page in a peculiar script, don't you think?

Anyway, if you'd like, you can send me your real address (so I can send you a cozy little letter), to my email address: kaneaugustusfreeman@gmail.com

I hope you're and yours are well.

Cheers!
Kane

Kane,

I totally respect that and agree. I just have no chutzpah to do it myself. My family wants me to leave fb open so they can see pics of my daughter.
I've made my photos private and viewable only by family as a first step, and we'll see if I do the other 11 steps. haha

I'll email ya.

I agree. There is a pseudo-relationship thing in social networking.
I thought I would give it a try, but other than communicating with my daughter, for fun, I can't honestly say that I have enjoyed any of it.
Traditional letter writing has it beat hands down.

J.,

I couldn't agree more: pen and paper, phone call, meeting in person... "these are a few of my favourite things!"
