Interesting, and accurate for many. Unfortunately not for all, that is the thing about generalization.
I am worthy of God's love. I can leave him, I just do not want to (masochism is not the same as battered woman syndrome ;)). Also he does not punish ME. Just others, because I am special lol.
It does make me go hmm as well and is very much worth thinking about. Quite true when it comes to the collective attitude of many churches. I have been to many of them.
